Sponsor Cerebral Palsy Strong
Hello everyone! My name is Katy and I'm the founder of Cerebral Palsy Strong, a community org for young adults with CP and I'm also one of your 'STEPtember Trainers.' I’m here today to ask you to join us as we take part in the STEPtember challenge led by Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation (CPARF).
Despite being the world’s most common lifelong physical disability and affecting 18 million people, cerebral palsy is one of the most underfunded conditions. We are taking part in STEPtember this year to ensure that CPARF can help bring science to life to change what's possible for people with cerebral palsy.
For those living with CP, like me, movement is a constant challenge. Our bodies expend up to 3x as much energy as most non-disabled people just in our daily life. CP looks different for everyone as a neurological condition and physical disability. There are many folks with CP who are non-ambulatory and may use a wheelchair full-time (33%!) or those who are fairly ambulatory, using a wheelchair part-time and other mobility devices (like a walker, a cane or orthotics) at other times depending on the environment and activity they’re doing. This is lifelong and our bodies and needs will change as we age. I'm fortunate to have the resources to ensure my needs are met but many people still face significant barriers the kinds of to assistive technology and the healthcare that they need to live a full life. We need your support now more than ever.

If you’re unable to join, please consider making a donation to help us reach our fundraising goal. Your support means so much to us. Every dollar makes a difference. Thanks. <3>
We are #CPstrong
CPstrong is moving CP research & innovation forward!
We're taking the STEPtember challenge to raise funds for cerebral palsy research and innovation. We're taking our fitness into our own hands and setting daily activity goals for the month of September. All month long, we'll be raising funds to support Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation (CPARF).
Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common lifelong physical disability in the world, affecting 18 million people of all ages, with 1 in 323 babies diagnosed with CP every year. Even though it’s so common, CP doesn’t get the attention or funding it deserves. Your generosity will change that.
Any contribution you make will make a difference. Your gift can support:
- Technology that makes it possible for people with CP to move in ways — and accomplish things — that they never have before.
- Research into new chronic pain treatments and solutions for people with CP.
- Training to help medical teams to detect CP in babies as young as three months old, so children can get timely physical therapy.
- Technology that makes it easier for people with CP to live their everyday lives right now.
Please help our org support this great cause by making a donation. It would mean so much to us— and to everyone with CP.
