STEPtember

STEPtember (STEPtember.us) is a fundraising initiative operated by Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation, Inc. (CPARF).


The Challenge:

  1. The challenge starts on September 1, 2026 and ends on October 2, 2026. 
  2. To be eligible to receive a reward, STEPtember participants need to meet the conditions outlined below (under "Rewards") by 11:59 pm ET on Friday, October 2, 2026. 
  3. Any additional fundraising activity must be completed by 11:59 pm ET on Friday, October 9, 2026, and funds raised as part of the campaign must be banked before this date. The STEPtember fundraising pages will remain open until 11:59 pm ET on Friday, October 9, 2026. 
  4. While participating in this challenge may have health benefits, STEPtember provides no guarantee that this challenge will help an individual achieve their health goals. The challenge has not been developed with any individual's particular health requirements in consideration. 
  5. Do not rely on the information provided in relation to the STEPtember challenge as an alternative to medical advice from a doctor or other professional healthcare provider. If participants have any specific health or medical concerns, they should consult with their medical or healthcare provider prior to changing their diet, nutrition, or exercise regimen. 
  6. While CPARF has made every attempt to ensure that the information provided as part of the STEPtember challenge has been obtained from reliable sources, CPARF is not responsible for any errors or omissions, or for the results obtained from the use of this information.  

Agreement:

I/We understand the terms and conditions under which any fundraising activities benefiting CPARF need to operate. I/We have read CPARF’s terms and conditions and offer to participate in STEPtember in accordance with those terms and conditions.  

By agreeing to these Terms of Fundraising, you acknowledge: 

1. You will be solely responsible for all your activities on the STEPtember.us site, also referred to as the Site. 
2. No person under the age of 18 may use STEPtember.us to donate or fundraise, unless they obtain a parent or guardian’s permission to participate in the challenge. 
3. You have the legal capacity to enter these terms. 
4. You will keep all passwords, account names, and login identifiers required to access STEPtember.us secure and confidential.
5. You will not use STEPtember.us in any way that causes, or is likely to cause, the site or access to it to be interrupted, damaged, or impaired in any way. 
6. By uploading a photo to your fundraising page, you confirm that you own the copyright to the image (or have the necessary, documented permission from the copyright holder) and that you have the right to grant CPARF a license to display it on the STEPtember.us event platform.
7. You will not use the site to misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or Organization.
8. You will not use the Site to conduct, display, or forward details of any survey, contest, pyramid scheme, or chain letter or use any part of our Site to send commercial messages. 
9. You will not attempt to modify, adapt, translate, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the site, any associated website, or any other website. 
10. You will not hide, deface, alter, or delete any copyright symbol, trademark, or other proprietary rights notice.
11. You will not use any part of the Site which you are not authorized to use or devise ways to circumvent security in order to access part of the Site which you are not authorized to access. This includes, but is not limited to, scanning networks with the intent to breach and/or evaluate security, whether or not the intrusion results in access. 
12. You will not use or attempt to use the Site for any unlawful, criminal, or negligent purpose. This includes, but is not limited to, password cracking, social engineering (defrauding others into releasing their passwords), denial-of-service attacks, harmful and malicious destruction of data, infringing the intellectual property rights of any person, and injection of computer viruses and intentional invasion of privacy. 
13. CPARF requires that there be no door-to-door appeals, street collections, or telephone solicitation of any kind to members of the public who are not personally known to the participant in connection with the STEPtember challenge. 
14. You agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and bylaws, including all applicable privacy laws, and any other conditions that we may notify you. By participating in the STEPtember challenge, you agree to refrain from doing anything which may reasonably be expected to damage the goodwill, reputation, or integrity of CPARF.  
15. Any prizes, incentives, or rewards can only be claimed or rewarded until Friday October 30, 2026. No claiming, sending, or redrawing of these rewards or prizes will occur after this date.  

Disclaimer:

CPARF reserves the right to withdraw approval to fundraise should it be necessary to protect its reputation.

Activity Leaderboards:

At CPARF, we are committed to upholding the integrity of the STEPtember challenge and ensuring fair competition. As part of this commitment, any suspicious or unusually high volumes of logged activities will be investigated. If participants are unable to provide valid GPS evidence, the CPARF team reserves the right to remove the activities and/or impose daily step limits. These measures are designed to ensure that STEPtember remains a positive and fair challenge for all participants. 

Rewards:

No purchase, donation, or fundraising is required to enter or win the Grand Prize Giveaway. To enter without fundraising, participants can submit an entry by mailing a 3x5 card with their name, mailing address, email, and phone number to CPARF at 500 7th Avenue, Floor 8, New York, NY 10018, postmarked by September 30, 2026, and received by October 5, 2026. Free entries submitted through this method will be given the same number of entries as a participant who raises $100 through STEPtember. Limit one free mail-in entry per person for the STEPtember 2026 challenge.

  1. Rewards are open to new and returning STEPtember participants who register for 2026 on STEPtember.us.
  2. Donors who are not registered as STEPtember participants, but give to a fundraiser’s page in the amount(s) listed on STEPtember.us/grand-prize will be eligible to win the Grand Prize Giveaway. 
  3. To be eligible to receive a reward, STEPtember participants need to meet the conditions outlined below between Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 12:00 am ET and Friday, October 2, 2026, 11:59pm ET. 
  4. To receive individual participation rewards, all participants must have opted in during registration and must have provided a valid postal address in the United States. 
  5. CPARF will not send rewards to addresses outside of the United States. 
  6. Reward recipients will be notified via their registered email and/or via SMS with their registered mobile number. 
  7. The individual participant and/or fundraising targets that are required to be eligible must be achieved by Friday, October 2, at 11:59 pm ET to receive entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway include: 
  • Returning stepper from 2025 = 1 entry  
  • All-Star Stepper (have participated 5+ years of STEP) = 5 entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway
  • Comeback Kid (skipped 2025 but back now!) = 1 entry into the Grand Prize Giveaway
  • Complete a Weekly Challenge = 1 entry into the Grand Prize Giveaway
    • There will be four opportunities  
  • Surprise Fitness Days: On various days throughout the Challenge, there will be an announcement via email, social media, push notification, and text message to log a specific activity to receive 10 entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway
  • Raise $100: Earn one entry into the Grand Prize Giveaway 
  • Raise $250: Earn two entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway 
  • Raise $500: Earn five entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway 
  • Raise $750: Earn eight entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway 
  • Raise $1,000: Earn ten entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway 
  • For every $500 increment after $1,000 you’ll receive five entries 
  1. VIP Super Stepper Club rewards (individuals who fundraise $750 or more): 

  • Ten entries into the Grand Prize Giveaway 
  • Discounts on select Remarkable US products 
  • Special theme on your dashboard and fundraising page 
  • Leaderboard icon badge 
  1. All rewards are subject to availability while supplies last. CPARF may substitute rewards of equal or greater value. 
  2. Prizes are as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are not transferable. 
  3. The promoter's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. The promoter is CPARF, EIN 47-4851754.
